Drop in daily Covid cases as Madhya Pradesh crosses 7,000-mark

BHOPAL: With 165 people testing positive on Tuesday, the tally of Covid-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh crossed the 7,000-mark. With the new patients , a total of 7,024 patients have tested positive so far in the state.


Besides, five deaths were also reported on Tuesday from across the state. The districts where these deaths were reported include Indore, Bhopal, Khandwa, Datia and Mandla — all of which recording a death each.

With Tuesday’s deaths, the death toll due to Covid-19 in state reached 305, the state health bulletin released by directorate of health services stated.

Tuesday’s positive cases were reported from 24 of the 50 Covid-19 infected districts of the state. These districts include Indore (39), Bhopal

(32), Ujjain (26), Burhanpur (15), Gwalior (10), Sagar (9), Singrauli (4), Dhar (3), Chhatarpur (3), Narsinghpur (3), Khandwa (2), Mandsaur (2), Morena (2), Bhind (2), Rewa

(2), Betul (2), Damoh (2), Jabalpur (1), Khargone (1), Barwani (1), Jhabua (1), Sidhi (1), Panna (1) and Mandla (1).

On the brighter side, 118 patients who were admitted at hospitals across the state have either recovered or discharged from hospitals. With these new recoveries, total number of people cured of the diseases reached 3,689. This number continues to be higher than the total number of active patients in the state — which now stands at 3,030.

As per the state health bulletin, a total of 1.41 lakh samples have been received in the state.
