Drugs worth 1000 crore seized in Mumbai, two arrested



The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and the Customs Department have seized 191 kg of drugs from a joint operation in Navi Mumbai.
Market value of the seized drug is being estimated at 1 thousand crore rupees.  The drugs have been recovered from Shiva Port in Navi Mumbai.  According to the DRI, these drugs were being hidden inside the pipe, which is worth 5 crores in the market.


Two accused have been arrested in the case, who were brought through Afghanistan.  The accused appeared in court after which they have been sent to custody for 14 days.  According to agencies, the case is being investigated further.

 The DRI official said that drugs worth Rs 1,000 crore have been recovered in a joint operation conducted with the Customs Department at Shiva Port in Navi Mumbai.  This illegal material was being hidden through pipes and brought through Afghanistan.  The officer said that the accused have been sent to police custody for 14 days.
