Dues held, AC distributor threatens firm's legal head

The deputy general manager of an air-cooler company has accused its Rajasthan-based service provider of threatening to kill him after the firm withheld his dues.

Satellite resident Dushyant Pandya, who works in the legal department at Symphony, filed the complaint against Sampathsinh Rajpurohit, a resident of Sardarsah in Churu district of Rajasthan.

Pandya told Mirror, "Rajpurohit, who runs Kheteshwar Service Centre had expressed his intention to be a service provider for the company in 2017, and was authorized as one. However, he sold renovated air-coolers as new ones, and forged bills in company name. He made false calls and cheated the firm as he had access to our spares and bills. The company then filed a case of copyright with the magistrate."

The company filed cases of copyright infringement, cheating and misrepresentation against Rajpurohit. Due to this, he was unable to recover his dues from Symphony.

On November 7, Rajpurohit called Pandya and blamed him for his dues being withheld by the company. He reportedly told Pandya that he knew how to recover dues. "Rajpurohit said he knew Symphony chairman Achal Bakeri, his father Anil Bakeri and the extent of their influence. However, he claimed to have more clout in Rajasthan," said Pandya, adding: "He made the threat calls out of desperation as his arrest is imminent." Rajpurohit then allegedly threatened Pandya and said he was aware that he often visited Jaipur in Rajasthan. Vastrapur PI M M Jadeja said, "We will send a notice to Rajpurohit to come and give his statement."
