E-library in Munger varsity soon

PATNA: In a major policy decision and to give an impetus to academic development at undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level of studies, Munger University has decided to introduce virtual class room-cum- e-library system in each institution and PG departments of the university.

“The decision has been taken to give more exposure to students in the field of research and other academic activities,” said Munger University VC Prof Ranjit Kumar Verma.



Verma said on Wednesday that the new system will give an opportunity to the university to start online courses for those who wish to continue further studies online in various career-oriented courses. “It would also provide an opportunity to make the university a centre for online test and examinations for university courses,” he said adding, “Principals of all constituent colleges have been asked to submit a proposal in this connection within 10 days.”

“The university has also chalked out a comprehensive programme to start solar energy and water harvesting programme in all its institutions,” he said.

The VC added that each college has been directed to adopt one village under ‘One college, One village’ programme for its all-round development in the field of literacy and better healthcare for men, women and children of underprivileged class of the society.

The university has also geared up to organize a national seminar on ‘Science, Yoga and Innovation: Transforming Higher Education Through Knowledge Interface’ which will be held on August 21 and 22 in Munger.

“Academics and scholars from Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and other places will take part in the national seminar,” the VC said.
