Encroachment case: LSG secretary to appear in court on December 18

JAIPUR: A division bench of Rajasthan High Court on Thursday asked the secretary, local self-governance (LSG) to appear in the court on December 18 in connection to the compliance of removal of encroachment from Khadda Basti locality near Janata Colony .

The court gave the interim order while hearing a contempt petition filed by Saket Nagar Vikas Samiti.

“Despite the fact that the court had ordered for removal of encroachments two years ago still the state government has not yet complied with it. The debris at the spot as not even been removed from the area. We have also shown the pictures of the debris lying in the area and contended if the similar situation and dilly dally approach of the state government will continue, there is a possibility of re-encroachment on the land,” said Yogesh Tailor, the counsel for the petitioners.

Naina Saraf who appeared on the behalf of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) maintained that all the encroachments have been removed while the tender for removal of debris have been issued. The court asked the secretary, LSG to appear in the court on December 18.
