Commentary
  • That's all from this high-scoring but one-sided game. 717 runs came in total as their was no respite for the bowlers on this minuscule ground in Bristol. The action for the fourth ODI moves to Nottingham. Do join us on 17th May at 1300 local (1200 GMT) for all the action. Cheers!
  • Jonny Bairstow is chosen for the Man of the Match award. He led the charge of England's batting superbly with his 93-ball 128.
  • Earlier in the day, powered by Imam-ul-Haq's impressive century and some handy contributions from Haris Sohail and Asif Ali, Pakistan posted their best ODI total batting first in England. At the halfway stage, they would have really fancied their chances but the way their bowling faltered was really disappointing.
  • Abysmal bowling and fielding performance from Pakistan. Jason Roy was dropped when he was on 21 and after that, their bowlers received a real pounding. There wasn't a single bowler who left any impact or created any pressure. To add to that, their ground fielding was also very substandard. With the World Cup knocking on the door, Pakistan have a really big issue to address.
  • It was a usual story for England. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow went berserk at the start and put together a 159-run stand in no time. That pegged Pakistan back and in spite of losing Jason Roy, the English team always remained in front. Bairstow and Root then combined for yet another handy partnership to keep the visiting team on the back foot. All the batsmen to follow after that contributed to the cause and eventually it was a very easy and comprehensive victory for the numero uno ODI team.
  • A cakewalk! England have chased down a target of 359 with ridiculous ease. Didn't even break a sweat. Insane batting. The bowlers suffered yet again. Really feel bad for them. This is the joint fifth highest run chase in ODI history and it has been done with 31 balls to spare. Dominance of the bat at its very best.
