Commentary
  • Right then, that is all we have from the first game of this Super Saturday. The second game is already underway where Kolkata is taking on Lucknow. So switch tabs and enjoy that game. Cheers!
  • Yashasvi Jaiswal is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant knock of 68 off 41 balls!
  • Punjab just did not start well with the ball! Most of their bowlers had an off day. Especially, Sandeep Sharma and Rabada who just were not at their best. Rishi Dhawan and Arshdeep Singh did a good job but there was not enough support from the others and in the end, they taste yet another defeat. At the halfway mark, Punjab surely would have thought they have got to a good score. Bairstow was brilliant with the bat for them. They did lose their way in the middle but Sharma and Livingstone got them to a score which we felt was above par at that time but in the end it was chased courtesy a combined batting effort by Rajasthan.
  • The openers got them off to a flier before Jos Buttler fell. Sanju Samson also followed soon but Yashasvi Jaiswal played brilliantly. He and Devdutt Padikkal put up a really good stand which would have settled the nerves after the fall of Samson. Padikkal was happy to play second fiddle whereas Jaiswal took the attack to the bowlers. He scored a fine half ton but his wicket gave Punjab hope. However, Shimron Hetmyer and Padikkal played sensibly and took their side over the line nicely. A well-calculated chase.
  • Rajasthan get back to winning ways and they do so in style. Chasing down 190 against this Punjab attack on this wicket was never going to be easy but they have done so brilliantly.
