Carragher lays into Antonio Conte

Jamie Carragher has laid into Tottenham manager Antonio Conte after his outburst in the wake of Spurs' 3-3 draw with Southampton.

Conte accused his own club of lacking the ability to fight under pressure, highlighting their lack of success over the past 20 years, and Carragher has reacted to Conte's rant.

“Conte wants to be sacked in this international break. Spurs should just put him out of his misery and do it tonight," he said (via the ECHO).

Asked by Watford striker Troy Deeney if Conte had a point, Carragher then elaborated further: "His point about Spurs not winning for a long time is right, but you don’t speak about your own club like that. Especially when you’re getting paid fortunes by them!"

"The improvement in Arsenal this season after finishing above them last season kills a lot of his arguments," Carragher added.

Bellingham 'top, top' priority

Liverpool has identified Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham as the club's number one transfer target this summer, according to journalist Christian Falk.

In his column for Caught Offside, Falk maintains that Jürgen Klopp has told the club to go after Bellingham first and foremost, above all else, in something of a transfer 'intervention'.

"Jürgen Klopp made his thoughts very clear: Bellingham is now the top, top target," Falk wrote (via the ECHO). "He said that every other transfer should be pushed down the pecking order; names like Randal Kolo Muani aren’t as important at the moment."

Julian Ward seals new job

Liverpool's current sporting director Julian Ward has agreed to take over a similar role at Ajax once his contract at Anfield expires this summer.

Ward has only been Liverpool's sporting director for less than a year, but announced his shock departure earlier this season. According to the Daily Mirror, after negotiations with Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar, Ward has agreed to take on the sporting director role at the Eredivisie side and an attempt to rebuild them after losing a host of stars over the past several years.

Ward replaced Michael Edwards in the role for Liverpool last summer, as Edwards left the club after more than a decade.
