Jude Bellingham transfer latest

Liverpool is increasingly unlikely to be signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the summer, according to The Athletic, with three reasons listed for that being the case.

The report states that Bellingham does not have a release clause, Dortmund is under no obligation to sell, and it will take a very high price to alter that stance.

All of those things have been true for some time, however. None of those reasons are things that will only just have been worked out by Liverpool or any other interested party.

There is still time before the summer for Liverpool to work something out, with all of its eggs placed in the Bellingham basket last summer when the Reds opted not to move for an alternative to Aurélien Tchouaméni.

While there is a lot to be done in the transfer market this summer and it will take a big investment from FSG to sort out the squad and get Liverpool back to the top, that is only because too little work has been done in the past.

Barcelona transfer stance

Barcelona forward Ansu Fati could be available this summer and Liverpool and Arsenal are battling for his signature, according to GiveMeSport, while Newcastle and Manchester United are also named as possible destinations.

Fati has supreme talent but has only started nine times this season and Barcelona needs to raise funds amid its financial struggles with Xavi looking for parts of his squad that could be sacrificed.

According to the report, Fati could be one of the players deemed expendable and could leave for as little as $60m (c. £50m/€55m), which could be a bargain for the 20-year-old forward.

Liverpool is losing Roberto Firmino at the end of his contract but other areas of the squad are deemed bigger priorities for a rebuild, with a lot of money needing to be splashed to get Jürgen Klopp's team back on track.

That makes signing another attacking player unlikely, but Fati would be someone worth considering altering that stance for. It is not often someone of that level of talent becomes available.
