Where Coronation Street fans have seen 'Kerry' star before as character's real identity exposed

Coronation Street will expose Lauren's mum 'Kerry' for who she really is later this week.

Kerry made her arrival earlier this week, claiming she is the mum of missing teenager Lauren, who is presumed dead by the police. However, in a twist, later this week it will be confirmed that she isn't who she says she is and is actually a lady called Alice, who is at Roy's under false pretences and secretly films everything she sees, claiming he's a murderer.

Fans have been left fuming by Kerry's arrival and are convinced she is hiding something, which of course is the case. 'Kerry' has arrived as part of Roy Cropper's shocking arrest storyline, which will see him charged with murder later this week.

One fan wrote: "I don't trust 'Kerry' at all. #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie," whilst a second added: "Nina knows this woman isn't legit - she should ask Kerry for ID. #Corrie." A third shared: "Get Evelyn to speak to Kerry. She’ll smell a rat within seconds!! #Corrie," with a fourth penning: "I knew 'Kerry' wasn't legit. Poor Roy #Corrie."

Viewers will recognise Kerry/Alice actress Hannah Almond, who has appeared in a few TV shows prior to Corrie. Hannah played Beth in 2018's The Bisexual, Nicola Crosswell in a 2023 episode of Casualty and Bridget Cooper in COBRA last year.

On Friday's episode, it is revealed that Kerry is at Roy's under false pretences. During the night, she secretly films Roy's living room and makes him out to be a murderer in her commentary.

When Roy sleep walks into the room, Kerry quickly pretends to be asleep. Elsewhere, Nick and Sam pop by where Nick apologises to Roy. He then tells Roy that when everything returns back to normal, he'd be happy for Roy and Sam to spend more time together. Sam sweetly tells Roy that he's his best friend forever, as Kerry watches on.

Later, Roy is confused when he gets a call from Lauren's mum and asks him not to contact her again. As all eyes are on Kerry, she admits that she's actually a lady called Alice. Alice starts filming Roy and Evelyn as they head out with Freddie. When Roy tries to stop her from filming, she stumbles and bangs her head, accusing Roy of assault.

Things go from bad to worse for Roy when it's revealed later in the episode that the cobbles favourite has been charged with the murder of Lauren. The ITV soap then shows Roy sitting alone in his police cell completely numb with fear. Is this an exit for Roy or will he be cleared in time?
