The dates for the upcoming Common Law Admission Test (CLAT-2023) have been announced. This national-level entrance exam will be held on December 18, 2022, for admission to the Undergraduate Program (Integrated Law Course) of all the National Law Universities of the country. The online application process for CLAT 2023 has been started by the Consortium of National Law Universities.

Every year lakhs of candidates appear in CLAT. Due to this, there is stiff competition in it. In such a situation, there is a need for systematic preparation to pass it. Let us know how to prepare better for it in the next four months.

There are 150 questions in CLAT. Each question is of one mark. This exam is conducted in offline mode. The exam is two hours in duration, in which questions are asked from a total of five sections (English Language, Current Affairs/General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques). Now the question is how to prepare by making a schedule with planning. Some tips for this are as follows, which can be followed to crack this exam easily:

1. Make a practical schedule: For strong preparation, first, make a daily and weekly schedule. It should be practical, which you can follow daily. Doing this will help you cover all the topics and concepts on time.

2. Practice with Analysis: Whenever you complete any topic or concept, practice a related test on the same day. With this, you will get to know about your weak areas immediately and will be able to fix them by refocusing on them.

3. Focus on Marking Scheme: If you have an understanding of the marking scheme and keep your focus on it, it will help in securing a good score in various sections.

4. Better Guidance: If you feel that you are not able to prepare it properly by yourself, then you can join any good coaching center. The coaching centers have facilities for doubt-clearing sessions. The preparation modalities can also be improved here.

5. Study Material: Don't get bogged down in too many books for smart preparation for CLAT. Just prepare from the books of some good publications. Keep repeating these books over and over again till the exam. Keep giving subject-wise tests/mock tests together. With repeated practice, you will get a chance to identify your weak areas and improve them.

6. Avoid guesses: While giving the CLAT paper, avoid guesswork, as 0.25 marks will be deducted from your correct marks for every wrong answer.

7. Prepare Notes: Prepare your notes for each topic for revision just before the exam. Always remember that the notes should be precise and in easy language.

If you want to qualify for CLAT, then right now you need to focus on subject-wise preparation:
• For English: This is the easiest section as everything comes in syllabus-wise. In this section, practice grammar questions daily and develop your reading habit to prepare for reading comprehension and vocabulary questions along with understanding the basic concepts of language. For the preparation of this section, give priority to only the books of good authors.

• For GK: Read national-level newspapers regularly to prepare for this section. Take care of all important legal decisions during this time. Keep an eye on recent events as well. It will also help you in preparing for the History, Art, and Culture section.

• Legal Aptitude: This section is of moderate level. You will do well in this section if you practice Legal Reasoning every day with fair answers. For this, read newspapers and blogs related to current legal issues.

• Maths: The difficulty level of questions in this section is similar to that of class 10 maths. For this, you need to focus on important and scoring topics. Try to bring clarity to the concepts through regular practice and revision.

• Logical Reasoning: If we talk about Logical Reasoning, then this section also plays a very important role in the exam. In this, for the preparation of the subject, you should focus more on Analytical Reasoning, such as Statement and Argument, Statement and Assumptions, Statement and Conclusion, Course of Action, Passage and Conclusion, Assertion and Reason and Blood Relation, etc. The best way to prepare for this section is to first practice understanding these types of questions, all the questions are answered in the question itself.
