Bamboo cultivation is very beneficial at the economic level. The cost of bamboo farming in the initial years is a maximum of Rs 35,000 per acre. Intercropping generates income in the first 5 years, which also provides nutrition and necessary irrigation to the bamboo plantation. From the sixth year onwards, around Rs 1500 per bamboo can be earned from 2 to 3-inch thick and 8-foot long bamboo.
Huge demand for bamboo in these industries
Nilesh said, after completing AC and ABC training, he got involved in promoting bamboo cultivation. It signed contracts with 350 farmers for bamboo cultivation in buyback mode. He advises on bamboo cultivation. There is a huge demand for bamboo from real estate, the paper industry, and the handicraft industry. According to Nilesh, bamboo is a profitable plant for 40 to 50 years once planted. This can even go up to 90 years
Annual turnover of Rs 25 lakh
Nilesh is doing an annual business of Rs 25 lakh from the bamboo business. He is advising on bamboo to more than 350 farmers from 9 villages. Provide training to farmers on scientific methods of bamboo cultivation. He has also given employment to 8 people.
