BTS V's late-night live from Paris sparks ARMY outrage

After the chaotic airport scenes and a sparkling welcome in Paris, it was clear that BTS' singer V, also known as Kim Taehyung, had landed in the city of love. When he was asked why was he awake so late at night, he said, "Actually I used to be able to sleep deeply, but now even a little bit of noise will make me wide awake. I don't know if it’s because of military service."

The comment immediately went viral, sparking widespread concern and anger - not at V, but at the emotional and physical toll military service has clearly taken on him.

BTS ARMY reacts with sadness and fury

The reaction from ARMY was swift and heartfelt. Many took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to expressed their heartbreak that something as basic as rest had become difficult for V. Many called out the exhausting demands placed on idols during their enlistment, and how such sacrifices often go unnoticed or unspoken.

Military habits that haven't left BTS V

This wasn't the first time V shared how the military had affected his daily life. During a recent OT7 broadcast, he revealed that he still performs roll calls before breakfast - a habit carried over from his training. It's a small but telling glimpse into just how deeply the experience has shaped him.
