Leaked Photo Reveal First Look Of Sai Pallavi And Ranbir Kapoor In "Ramayan"

In the leaked images, Sai Pallavi can be seen adorned in traditional attire fitting for Sita, complete with intricate jewellery and a serene expression that matches the character's grace and dignity. Ranbir Kapoor, portraying Lord Ram, is depicted in royal attire, embodying the valour and nobility of the epic hero.

While the Zoom exclusive image resurfaced on X, many loved the first look, but there is a section of X (formerly Twtter) that criticised it.

A user expressed concerns about the casting of Sai Pallavi as Sita in the upcoming film "Ramayan." The user criticised the decision, stating that it was inappropriate due to Sai Pallavi's previous statements and political views, which they believed clashed with the character traits traditionally associated with Sita.

The comment read: "Haha, Sai Pallavi as Sita is the biggest comedy. A woke who took the side of cow smugglers to show her Dravidian intellectualism is playing Maa Sita? Why do these Bollywood people need to beg to South industries for providing actors always? Is there no deserving actress in Hindi?"

The post has generated a flurry of reactions, with people debating the relevance of an actor's personal views and regional identity in casting decisions for historically and culturally significant roles.

Some social media users agree with the comment, suggesting that casting for such iconic roles should be more considerate of cultural and regional sensitivities. Others defend the choice, highlighting Sai Pallavi's acting skills and her right to express personal views without impacting her professional opportunities.

This controversy sheds light on the broader discussions within the Indian film industry regarding casting practices, regional biases, and the impact of an actor's personal ideologies on their professional engagements. As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how this will affect public anticipation and reception of the film.

The film "Ramayan," directed by renowned filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, is among the most anticipated projects in Bollywood, promising to bring the ancient Indian epic to life with a fresh perspective and high production values. The casting of Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor has been met with enthusiasm, as both actors are known for their powerful performances and strong screen presence.

"Ramayan" is expected to hit theatres in 2025.
