Why Amar Singh Chamkila's Daughter Is Upset With Imtiaz Ali?
Amar Singh Chamkila is being hailed as one of the best films of 2024. From Diljit Dosanjh's impressive performance to Imtiaz Ali's storytelling, everyone is in awe of the film. However, the late singer's first wife Gurmail Kaur and daughter Amandeep Kaur are upset with Imtiaz Ali for chopping off their scenes from the film.

Amandeep Kaur, in an interview with Switch, revealed, "Hum thoda naraaz hain unse. Amarjot mumma ki family sari dikha di. Unki sister bhi dikha di, unke bhai di dikha diye, unke mummy papa sab dikha diye. Aur papa ki taraf se thoda miss kar diya. Humari bua nahi dikhayi, papa bohot close the bua se. Do chaar scene the vo hone chaiye the, sab cut kar diya. Thodi narazgi hai humari. Itne bade parde par aise kaise kar diya unhone. Humari photo bhi nahi lagayi. Jaiman ki toh photo lagayi thi. (We are a little angry with Imtiaz sir. He showed Amarjot mumma's entire family including his sister, mother, brother and father. But they missed a lot of people from my dad's side. They didn't show my Bua, papa was very close to her. Three-four scenes that should have been there, they chopped them off. We are a little angry. How did they do it on such a big screen? Didn't even put our photo. That photo of Jaiman was shown.)"
To this, Amar Singh Chamkila's first wife Gurmail Kaur added she performed the last rites of her father Aamrjot Singh but that was also not shown in the film.

Amar Singh Chamkila's daughter revealed they faced tough times after her father's death. Amandeep Kaur was around five years old when the incident happened and her younger sister Kamaldeep Kaur was a year and a half old. Her father used to send them money every month - which helped them survive. However, after this death, they were left with nothing. "5-6 saal court case chalta raha Amarjot Maa ke parents ke sath," she said revealing about the property dispute case between Amar Singh Chamkila's first wife and Amarjot Kaur's parents. As shown in the film how Amarjot's parents took away everything after Chamkila's death, Amandeep said they didn't get anything.

Amar Singh Chamkila's first wife Gurmail Kaur said she shared a good bond with his second wife Amarjot Kaur X
"She used to visit us even after they got married. We used to cook together for the family. She was very good. Chamkila used to get us same gifts," she revealed.
