Sagar Preet Hooda, Special CP (Law & Order) Delhi Police, said, "Polygraph test of the accused Aftab Amin in Mehrauli police station case FIR No 659/22 under section 365/302/201 IPC could not be held today".

He had already undergone two sessions of Polygraph tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) at Rohini.

Poonawala had undergone a marathon polygraph test of nearly eight hours on Thursday. However, officials at the facility found it challenging to record his statements as he was not well.

The Delhi Police had earlier informed that the police had not received the DNA test report of the victim's body.

"DNA test report (of victim's body parts) has not been received by the police", said Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Zone II.

Delhi Police took DNA samples of the victim's father, Vikas Walkar on November 16 so that the dumped body parts and blood sample could be matched.

Walkar was strangulated to death by her live-in partner Poonawala who then allegedly chopped her body into 35 pieces before dumping it in the Chhatarpur area over three weeks.

So far, only some bones suspected to be of Walkar have been recovered by the police.

Attempts are also being made to match the DNA of chopped body parts, including a human head recovered in June by the Pandav Nagar police from Trilokpuri.

The body parts found in East Delhi were sent for a DNA test, and the forensic report is awaited.

Delhi Police also revealed that Poonawala had read about human anatomy to help him chop off the body.

Police also confirmed that during the investigation, blood stains were found in the kitchen of Poonawalla's flat in Chhatarpur.

Poonawala burnt her with cigarette

Earlier, Rajat Shukla, a college friend of Walkar, told the media that in 2021, Poonawala had burnt her with a cigarette on her back.

Her friends then visited Poonawala and threatened to file a police complaint if he continued to ill-treat her, Shukla said.

"It was Shraddha who asked us to give him one more chance, and I think that cost her her life," he added.

Other friends have said that Walkar faced constant physical abuse from her partner but refused to seek help, saying that such things happen in a relationship.
