Volkswagen Taigun gets big price cut: How much it costs now

Volkswagen Auto India is offering massive discounts of up to Rs 1.1 lakh on the Volkswagen Taigun SUV . The company offers this discount for a limited period and it is valid on select variants . The SUV is available in a total of 21 variants, however, the prices of only five variants have been reduced.

The Comfortline 1.0L MT variant now costs Rs 11 lakh, down from Rs 11.70 lakh.
Similarly, the GT Plus Chrome DSG and GT Plus Chrome DSG with new features have seen price drops of Rs 75,000 and Rs 1.05 lakh, respectively. The prices of the 1.5 GT Plus DSG Deep Black Pearl and GT Plus DSG Deep Black Pearl with new features have been slashed by Rs 74,000 and Rs 1.04 lakh, respectively. Additionally, the Carbon Steel Grey Matte variants now have reduced prices, up to Rs 1.10 lakh less than before.


The Taigun GT Plus Chrome and GT Edge variants are both available only with a 1.5-litre, TSI turbo petrol with 150hp power and 250 nm torque and comes paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Talking about the 1.0-litre engine , it’s a 3-cylinder, turbo petrol which puts out 115 PS and 175 nm torque, gearbox options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.


Volkswagen recently also extended the Taigun range with the introduction of two new trim levels - Taigun GT Plus. Two new trims get cosmetic enhancements and additional features over the standard variants and the company has not announced the prices yet.

In terms of features, the Taigun gets a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, electric sunroof, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and more. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold control, tyre pressure deflation warning, parking camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The Taigun competes with Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder in the Indian market.
