Donald Trump drops lawsuit against NY Attorney General Letitia James

New York, New York - Donald Trump has dropped another lawsuit he filed against New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Donald Trump(r) has dropped lawsuits he filed against New York Attorney General Letitia James, who was investigating him and his company for fraud.

According to CNN, the former president's legal team withdrew the suit on Tuesday with the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in New York, claiming in a one-page filing that they reached an agreement with James to dismiss an appeal they filed last May in an attempt to block her fraud investigation into Trump and The Trump Organization from moving forward.

"This appeal was voluntarily withdrawn for strategic purposes," said Alina Habba, Trump's attorney.

Last Friday, Trump's team also dropped a separate suit against James that was filed in November, which sought to prevent her investigation from looking into his personal trust and business interests.

In September 2022, proceeding her investigation, James filed a suit against former President Trump, three of his children – Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump – and The Trump Organization for using "fraudulent and misleading asset valuations" to gain financial benefit themselves.

The $250 million case was approved by a judge earlier this month, despite an attempt by Trump's team to have it dismissed.

Letitia James said she is "pleased" Trump and his team decided to withdraw their lawsuits against her: "As we have shown all along, we have a legitimate legal case against him and his organization, and we cannot be bullied or dissuaded from pursuing it."
