Gaun Seva exam to now be held on November 17

The Gaun Seva Mandal exam for non-Sachivalaya clerks and office assistants, which was scheduled on October 20 and was recently cancelled, will now be held on November 17.

After state wide agitation by applicants, the state government on Wednesday withdrew its decision to cancel the exam for 3,771 vacancies for which over 1 lakh candidates have applied.

Talking about the decision, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said, “Respecting the sentiments of the applicants, we have decided to announce a new date. Candidates can download their exam receipt from today itself.”

The exam was first postponed because of Lok Sabha elections and then for implementation of 10 per cent quota for the Economically Weaker Section. Later, General Administration Department (GAD) of the state government issued a notification that minimum qualification to appear in government examination will be undergraduate degree. Following the same, the exam for office assistant was cancelled as it had the minimum qualification of 12th pass.

The November 17 examination will be the last one with minimum required qualification of 12th pass.
