'Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle At The Garbage Dump' Surpasses 10 Billion Yen

The latest box office figures for the anime film ‘Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle At The Garbage Dump’ were revealed on May 1, 2024. According to the info, the film has surpassed 10 billion yen in box office revenue, attracting over 6.99 million viewers in 75 days since its release on Feb 16, 2024.

The movie had earned an impressive 2.23 billion yen in box office revenue within just three days of its release, setting the record for “highest first-week box office revenue of any film released in 2024” according to distributor Toho. This was, however, overtaken by Detective Conan‘s latest film Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram.

The first part of the two-part Haikyu!! FINAL films, titled  Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump

Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump picked up from where the fourth season left off, which included the match against Inarizaki high, and will focus on the “Spring Tournament 3rd round: Karasuno High vs. Nekoma High” arc of the manga.

Susumu Mitsunaka serves as the director as well as the scriptwriter for the anime film. SPYAIR performed the theme song  “Orange”.

It was previously revealed that the film will feature cheers from 10,000 fans, which will be used in the movie for the cheering crowd.

Haikyu!! is created by Haruichi Furudate and was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020. The series has over 55 million copies in circulation. It has 45 volumes containing 405 chapters.

The first season of the TV anime aired from April 2014 to September 2014. The second season aired from October 2015 to March 2016. The third season aired from October 2016 to December 2016.

The season 4 of the series aired in two cours, the first cour aired in January 2020 whereas the second cour aired from October to December 2020.
