Renault India is gearing up and it seems they are in a mood to refresh its entire model line up along with the unveiling of the of a new model (Renault Triber) in India. Recently, the upcoming 2020 Renault Kwid facelift was spied doing test rounds on the Indian roads for the very first time. The new Kwid facelift was disguised with heavy camouflage wraparounds.

The exterior of the new Renault Kwid facelift is more or less shares the same design as seen on the K-ZE that was made its world premiere at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show. The K-ZE concept is based on the same platform but it is an electric version of the small hatchback. Up front, the car is the same as the K-ZE. The car would sport split-styled LED daytime running light setup, where the sleek bezel is set higher and the headlamp unit is positioned at the lower side, same styling that Tata Motors came out with its Harrier SUV, followed by Hyundai Venue and the recently launched MG Hector. Coming to the side profile, the 2020 Renault Kwid retains the same styling, while at the rear, the hatchback would get some changes to its rear as well. Inside, we can expect it to feature new upholstery along with an updated infotainment system as well as the instrument panel.

Under the bonnet, the 2020 Renault Kwid facelift will come powered with the same set of powertrains, however, these units are likely to come as BS6 compliant. The hatchback gets a naturally aspirated 0.8-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 53 bhp with 72 Nm of torque and 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit that develops 68 bhp with 91 Nm of top torque. Both the engines are available in 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 1.0-litre variant is also offered with an AMT.
