Custom Suzuki Swift Sport Unveiled in Bangkok

• The custom Suzuki Swift Sport gets subtle changes.
• Interior styling has been retained.
• Similarly, the engine-transmission set-up has also been carried over.
• It gets new decals and air-scoops.
• Most of the changes have been made to the front, while rear receives subtle tweaks.

Suzuki Motor has unveiled the subtly modified version of its popular Swift Sport at the 2019 Bangkok International Motor Show. Changes made to this custom model are subtle with most of the elements carried over from the original one. That said, the custom Suzuki Swift Sport retains the same design and styling elements such as the staggered design for the honeycomb grille and sporty bumper with a prominent diffuser. However, it does get body-coloured headlamp eyelashes and custom dual racing stripes with twin air scoops.

Suzuki has also used body decals and the front fenders also get air scoops. Changes to the rear are superficial with just the custom headlamps with smoke effect look. The interior remain unchanged as it carries over the same all-black colour scheme with contrasting red trim.

On the mechanical front, the Suzuki Swift Sport comes with a K14C 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol engine that has been tuned to put out maximum power of 140 bhp at 5,500 rpm against top torque of 230 Nm between 2,500 to 3,500 rpm. This turbo petrol engine can be had with either a six-speed manual unit or a six-speed automatic gearbox. One must note that the performance hatchback comes equipped with a FWD layout.

The suspension set-up on the Suzuki Swift Sport comprises performance-tuned Monroe shock absorbers and a bigger strut bar opposed to the one offered with the standard version. Interestingly, the wheel hub and wheel bearings have been clubbed into a single unit and the width between the bearings has also been extended. This in turn, benefits the camber rigidity during cornering by 15 per cent. It additionally gets a new torsion beam that ensures higher roll stiffness.
