Five Tata Cars To Be Launched Soon in India, Check Out

• Tata has a number of upcoming projects

• Five of them are exciting.

• The list of upcoming Tata cars includes Hornbill, Nexon Facelift, Buzzard, Altroz and Nexon EV.

• Launches expected 2020 onward.

Tata has a slew of new products in the pipeline. We take a look at three of them that have caught our eye. Here they are:

The Hornbill is a small crossover that will fit below the Nexon in the company’s hierarchy, and alongside the Tiago. It is likely to be based on the same platform as another product on this list, the Altroz. Expect a launch by 2021.

The Altroz is a step up from the Tiago and will compete with the Balenos, Glanzas, i20s, and Jazzes of the world. It is the second vehicle after the Harrier to be designed with Tata’s new design language, Impact 2.0, in mind. It will be based on the Agile Light Flexible Advanced (or ‘ALFA’) platform.

Expect a number of surprises in the interiors, including a semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charger, and a floating infotainment unit. Motive power will be derived from both petrol and diesel engines – two 1.2-liter petrol engines will be on offer, one with turbocharging, and one without. A 1.5-liter diesel will also be offered.

The Tata Nexon Facelift is due for a mid-life refresh, and since BS Vl offers an opportunity for everyone to update their models to justify the increase in costs that the new hardware in the engine adds, Tata will follow suit with the Nexon as well. It will follow the Impact 2.0 design language and offer minor updates to the features and options list. 

This is the Harrier’s 7-seater/3 row variant, and the extra row means a number of things added to the Harrier. There will be an extra 62mm added to the rear, there will be added power to lug the extra weight around, to the tune of 170bhp, and there might be the option of all-wheel drive. Expect this flagship to offer similar features and tech as the Harrier. 

This is the all-electric version of the Nexon. It will use Tata’s Ziptron tech and will be the manufacturer's third all-electric model after the Tiago and Tigor. It will use a permanent magnet AC motor, and regenerative braking will help extend its range. It will be priced at Rs 13-17 lakh.
