The Kia Motors is going to launch its much-awaited Seltos finally on 22nd August and we can assure its second product in India will be Kia Grand Carnival. This premium MPV will make its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2020. This car will build the brand image in India.
According to the sources, every Kia car that launch in India would be a facelift or all-new model. The carmaker is presently working on Kia Grand Carnival Facelift which will be soon launched in the Indian automobile market. The car is also referred to as Kia Sedona in a few international markets, the Kia Grand Carnival first introduced in 2015 globally. Therefore, the facelift is still due and they are primarily introducing it in India.
The Carnival will be a premium MPV and it will be positioned above Toyota Innova Crysta. The Kia Grand Carnival price is considered to be around INR 25 lakhs (ex-showroom) for premium MPV. As per the sources, the Grand Carnival for India is expected to be a single top-spec variant. In the international market, the MPV comes with 11-seat configuration, however, Indian Grand Carnival will get a seven-seat configuration, having individual captain seats at the second row.

Talking of the Kia Grand Carnival specs, it will include a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine churning out a power of 202 bhp and a max torque of 441 Nm. The engine will be paired to the six-speed automatic gearbox. In the international market, the Carnival comes with a 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine, however, the possibility of having the same in India is not much.
Furthermore, the Kia Grand Carnival for India will primarily be imported through the CKD route as well as India assembled. Though Kia Motors is planning to manufacture the MPV locally in case its demand gets high and will make full use of the plant’ capacity.
