Kia Seltos dealer dispatches commence ahead of Launch

Kia Motors India will soon reveal the prices of its most anticipated SUV – Kia Seltos for the Indian market on August 22, 2019. Earlier, we also informed you that the model has already bagged over 6,000 pre-bookings in just one day. Here are some images that show the first batch of Seltos SUV has also started reaching dealership yards, where the brand will soon commence the customer test drive soon in coming few days.

Kia Seltos will go on sale soon through company’s dealership network that will initially have a presence in around 160 cities with 265 dealership touchpoints.

Dimensionally, Kia Seltos measures 4,315mm in overall length, 1,800mm of width and stands 1,620mm tall. If we compare these dimensions with Hyundai Creta’s, the Seltos is bigger in size but sits low and the Seltos a wheelbase of 2,610mm, which is also bigger than the Cretan ad also means that it will more spacious from inside.

Under the bonnet, Kia Seltos will be offered in three engine options and these engines are BS 6 compliant. The petrol and diesel variant would get a 1.5-litre unit that will make 115 bhp for both petrol and diesel variant, and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor that makes 140 bhp of maximum power. Transmission duties will be carried out with a 6-speed manual as standard, while there is a range of automatic transmission that Kia will introduce on these engines – CVT on the 1.5L petrol, 1.5L diesel unit will come paired with a 6-speed automatic (torque converter), and a 1.4L petrol unit coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch.

In the Indian market, the SUV pounce with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and Nissan Kicks and to some point it will also affect the sales of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and recently launched MG Hector. Expect the Kia Seltos price to range between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). After the launch of the Kia Seltos, Kia Motors India is likely to launch Kia Carnival MPV.
