Maruti Likely To Showcase 3 New Cars At The Auto Expo 2020

• Despite the downturn of the economy, Maruti Suzuki has continued launching new vehicles in the market.

• The Auto Expo 2020 could see Maruti Suzuki has come up with a minimum of three new models.

The slowdown in the industry has affected Maruti Suzuki, as well, with the company showing a negative YoY sales growth in 2019.

However, that has not deterred Maruti Suzuki from launching new models like the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, the new Wagon R, and the XL6. A premium version of the Wagon R is also getting ready for launch.

Maruti Suzuki is renowned for its excellent showing at the biennial Auto Expos. The upcoming 2020 Auto Expo in February could see Maruti handing out some memorable debuts. In the last version of the Auto Expo, Maruti had displayed the Concept Future S, the third generation Swift, and the e-Survivor Concept. Three models could be waiting for a display in February 2020.

The electric version of the Wagon R should be the first one off the blocks. It could get a launch sometime in 2020 at initial pricing in the range of Rs 10 lakhs.

Inspired by the JDM-spec Wagon R, this electric car could deliver 200km on a single charge. This car will come with the latest features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and smartphone connectivity.

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was a successful model. Encouraged by its success, Maruti Suzuki introduced a compact SUV S-Presso earlier this year. One can expect a more compact SUV in the Auto Expo 2020 in the form of Vitara. This car could complete with Nissan Kicks, MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Tata Harrier.

The third vehicle expecting a showcase is the Jimny-based lifestyle vehicle. This vehicle could open up a separate segment in the mid-size category with its rugged off-road driving characteristics.
