  • The Renault Triber was launched in August.

  • Has sold over 10,000 units in two months.

  • It is the first sub-4-meter 7 seater from the company.

  • Has good sales even in non-metro areas.

The Renault Triber has crossed the 10,000 sales mark. The 10,001st car was delivered to a customer in Mumbai at Benchmark Motors, one of its dealerships. It has managed to achieve this feat in just two months of going on sale.

The Triber was launched at the end of August and the official dealer dispatch figures for September stand at 4710 units, while for October, it stands at 5240 units. Although that figure falls just short of the claimed figure of 10,000 units, the company has since gone on to deliver more than 10,000 Tribers to customers.

The Renault Triber has been the main driver for growth in sales for Renault, helping it achieve a growth of 63 percent in sales for October 2019 compared to October 2018.

The Triber is the first product from Renault that offers three rows of seating but yet fits under the 4-meter length required for an excise tax break. It is based on the same platform as the Kwid, another sale hit for the company. In fact, it shares its 1 liter, three-cylinder 71 bhp 96Nm petrol engine with the Kwid

It is currently available only as a manual, but an AMT automatic gearbox will go on sale at some point as well. The manufacturer claims that there are over 100 seating configurations in the Triber, and with the third row removed, there is a massive amount of space that can be used to haul luggage.

The feature list is quite long, with the top-spec version getting four airbags, ABS with EBD, projector headlamps, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear AC vents, and rear parking sensors.

The Renault Triber has no real competition at the price, but the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is a similar product at a higher price point.
