Tata Nexon EV Spied Again Before its Launch in 2020

Tata Nexon EV was earlier spotted testing in the rough terrain in Leh as revealed by a YouTube series.

Now, spy shots show the Tata Nexon EV testing on the Indian roads again before its official launch early next year.

The Tata Nexon EV will get the same exterior body panels available on the mid-cycle Tata Nexon Facelift model. The Tata Nexon EV will sport a semi-digital panel displaying the current speed in an analogue format, whereas other information such as battery levels and range will get a digital display. The panel is similar to the one observed on the Tata Altroz and Tata Harrier.

The Tata Nexon EV draws its power from Ziptron Technology, an in-house developed EV powertrain technology by Tata Motors. Ziptron can provide a highly efficient voltage system, has extended range capabilities, deliver a zippy performance, and exhibits fast-charging abilities. The technology has been tested before for more than a million kilometers. 

Ziptron uses waterproof battery systems that satisfy IP67 standards. Tata Motors offers this technology with an 8-year warranty. As Ziptron uses advanced Li-ion cells, the car can deliver a mileage of 300 km on a single charge.

Other features of the Ziptron battery pack include liquid-cooling. The IP67 casing protects the vital electric components from damage under extreme conditions.

The permanent magnet AC motor is a highlighting feature of the Tata Nexon. The car is equipped with smart and regenerative braking features.

The Tata Nexon EV launch could happen early in 2020 in the price range of Rs 15 to 17 lakhs.
