Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to appoint Lieutenant General Asim Munir as the next Army Chief of Pakistan. The current Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is retiring on 29th of November.

“The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif has decided to appoint Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Lt. Gen. Syed Asim Munir as the Chief of the Army Staff using the constitutional authority” twitted Pakistan’s information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
