Acts like an Asura, compares himself to Laxman: BJP’s Ajay Alok slams Kejriwal

New Delhi: BJP spokesperson Ajay Alok hit out at Arvind Kejriwal and said that the former Delhi Chief Minister has "failed" to fulfil his promises to the people of the national capital.

Ajay Alok listed several issues in Delhi, including cleaning the Yamuna river and frequent water-logging after rains, among others "Their (Arvind Kejriwal's) acts are like Shumbha Nishumbha (Asuras in Hindu mythology) but they compare themselves to Laxman. They have destroyed Delhi, and the people are suffering from the heat and are not getting drinking water. During rains, there were such floods that forty-five people drowned in the drains," Ajay Alok said.

Calling AAP "mahaan paapi party", the BJP leader accused the ruling party of lying and deceiving the people of Delhi.

"The day he (Kejriwal) was resigning, I had told that he should take a bath in the Yamuna, why doesn't the whole family take a bath in the Yamuna? They just deceive and lie to the people, try to bring out new ideas where they can earn money, there is no other agenda of this mahan paapi party (great sinner party)," he said.

"He (Kejriwal) used to say, I swear on my kids that I will not contest elections, give me power for two days I will put Sonia Gandhi in jail, where is all that now? He changed completely. Nobody changes like this, people do change sometimes, but for him it is like an earthquake happened and the whole world changed. From head to toe he is covered in corruption, when the election comes, he will understand his place," he added.

Earlier in the day, AAP leader Atishi assumed charge as Delhi CM. Atishi took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi on September 22 days after she was named successor to the post by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal earlier this week. On September 17, Kejriwal tendered his resignation to Delhi LG VK Saxena, and Atishi staked claimed to form the new government days after the AAP chief was released on bail from Tihar jail in the excise policy case.
