What! Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' phone hacked by Saudi Arabia's crown prince

Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, had his mobile phone hacked in 2018 after he received an encrypted message on his WhatsApp. Evidently, the text which the boss of the e-commerce site received was from the personal account of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia i.e.

Mohammed bin Salman, The Guardian reported.

As per the leading media reports, the encrypted message was supposed to have some malicious file that could affect the phone of the world’s richest man and also got the access to the device, according to the results of digital forensic analysis.

Notably, the world's popular world figures were engaged in friendly conversation on WhatsApp. But, on 1st May, the unsolicited file was sent on Jeff Bezos's phone, according to sources who spoke to the Guardian on the condition of anonymity.

The case came to light five months later the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Turkey in October 2018. The journalist was ambushed at the Saudi consulate. He was murdered and dismembered by a group of men who were linked to the Saudi Prince.

Later, the Saudi government also admitted that it was a conspiracy behind the murder of Khashoggi after protest raised against the killing of the journalist.

 

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has refuted the allegations made against Saudi crown Prince about hacking Jeff Bezos’s phone.

The phone-hacking of Jeff Bezos also exposed his private messages that claimed that he was having an extramarital affair which led to the separation between the couple. Bezos divorced his wife MacKenzie after a marriage of 25 years.

Meanwhile, the United Nations will be releasing an investigation report on the hacking of Jeff Bezos's phone and also confirm whether the Crown Prince did this or not, Bloomberg reports said.
