A disagreement over WAGs travel: BCCI

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials and Chief Justice RM Lodha have communicated their resentment over Committee of Administrators’ (CoA) decision to let coach and the captain to decide on the schedule of visit of wives of the players. Recent reports suggest that a senior player of the team had violated BCCI’s “Family clause” during the recently concluded World Cup.

A senior official of the board stated that the rift among the players haven’t resolved and now the wives traveling with the players and violating the rules illuminates the current state of affairs in the board and how it requires immediate attention.

The controversy over the wives traveling with the players have never emerged before which has created difference of opinions on every aspect.

Another officials stated that “In this background, it has also emerged that despite the conflict of interest rules in place, decisions on travel of families will now depend on the captain and coach themselves and everyone has heard Justice Lodha’s views on this now.”

The officials expressed that “This has to stop. Rules have to be same for all and there has to be consistency in implementation.”
