ICC World Cup 2019: A big win for Bangladesh as they defeat West Indies by 7 wickets
County Ground, Taunton witnessed a splendid match today as Bangladesh registered their second win of the tournament as they defeated West Indies by 7 wickets with 51 balls left undelivered.
After India-Pakistan’s breathtaking match on 16 June we got to see another spectacular game today where Shakib Al Hasan’s back-to-back century helped Bangladesh chase the target with ease.
West Indies on the other hand made a great effort to put up a target of 322 to win but failed to defend it. Shai Hope scored a remarkable 96 off 121 balls, Evin Lewis scored 70 off 67 balls whereas Shimron Hetmyer marked his half century in 26 balls. The bowling department faced a tough challenge as Andre Russell and Oshane Thomas managed to grab only one wicket each.
With today’s win Bangladesh now sits in the fifth position of the Points Table with 5 points, whereas West Indies is in the seventh spot with 3 points in hand.
