IPL 13: Gautam Gambhir disagrees Shashi Tharoor on calling Sanju Samson 'the next MS Dhoni'!!!

Sanju Samson from RR has support of several senior Indian cricketers to find a place in the senior team, has once again proved his batting on the IPL 2020.

The contender of limited- over squad Samson gave two knocks of 74 and 85 respectively in the first two matches in UAE. But yesterday’s night hammering 42-ball 85 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) made, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor took to say 14-year-old Samson is the next Dhoni.

“What an absolutely incredible win for @rajasthanroyals! I’ve known @iamSanjuSamson for a decade & told him when he was 14 that he would one day be the next MS Dhoni. Well, that day is here. After his two amazing innings in this IPL you know a world class player has arrived,” Tharoor tweeted.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, disagreed with Tharoor’s tweet and said “Sanju Samson doesn’t need to be next anyone. He will be ‘the’ Sanju Samson of Indian Cricket,” Gambhir tweeted.

Earlier, Gambhir took a dig at Indian selectors by saying the only playing XI Samson doesn’t find him to be a part of is of Team India’s when he made 32-ball 74 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

“It’s weird that the only playing eleven Sanju Samson doesn’t find a place is that of India, rest almost everyone is ready for him with open arms @rajasthanroyals @IPL @BCCI,” Gambhir wrote.

Chasing a Giganitc target of 223 runs against KXIP, Samson made a crucial 81-run stand for the second wicket with skipper Steve Smith (50 off 27).

After the match, Samson said he did a lot of soul searching after IPL 2019 and decided to give his everything to cricket.

“I have been hitting it well for the past one year. So I was just sticking to my routine and feeling confident. I am happy to win a few games. I did a lot of soul searching after being frustrated at trying stuff. So I decided if I had ten more years of cricket left in me, I want to go back and give my everything,” Samson, who was adjudged Man of the Match, told host broadcaster Star Sports after the match.
