IPL 2021: Ben Stokes ruled out of IPL 2021 due to injury

A big blow for Rajasthan Royals as their star all-rounder Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the IPL campaign. According to reports, the all rounder suffered a hand injury while fielding which is suspected to be broken hand bringing an end to the cricketer’s IPL campaign for the remaining season.

Stokes sustained the injury while fielding during Rajasthan’s match against Punjab Kings on Monday. The 29-year-old cricketer dived to take a low catch to dismiss Chris Gayle but instead suffered the injury.

As per the reports, the IPL franchise is in touch with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the all-rounder is likely to remain in India for a week, where he will take an X-Ray to determine the impact of the injury.  

Rajasthan Royals lost the match to Punjab Kings by four runs. Punjab skipper Sanju Samson scored a brilliant 119 runs taking his side close to a win but on the last ball of the match was dismissed on Arshdeep Singh’s ball. Ben Stokes was dismissed without opening his account and was only able to bowl a single over.
