The Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) produced another high-scoring thriller in Match 31 as Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered the joint-highest successful run chase in the history of the tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The match witnessed just the fourth instance of players scoring hundreds from both sides in IPL history as Sunil Narine and Jos Buttler starred with their respective hundreds.

In a day which saw balls being sent to the boundary on almost every delivery, one particular shot from Rinku Singh stood out from the rest as he used his intelligence, power and precision with perfection to register a six on the third ball of his innings.

The southpaw walked in to bat with KKR on 184/4 after 16.1 overs and was sent in to give a perfect finish to their innings. Rinku didn’t waste much time as he began taking on the bowling on the third ball itself playing an inventive shot against Avesh Khan in the 19th over of the innings.

Running in to deliver the second ball of the over, Khan bowled a good length delivery targeting the stumps with a packed leg-side field. However, Rinku, using his presence of mind, moved to his right to make room for himself and whacked the delivery with all his might over deep extra cover as the ball crashed into the advertising hoardings for a six. With his stupendous shot, Rinku made his excellent game awareness and shot-making ability known to the world.
