There is little denying the fact that Shubman Gill is the next big thing in Indian cricket. Along with Prithvi Shaw, Gill is being widely tipped to be Indian cricket’s flag-bearer in the coming years.

The youngster has also made sure to live up to the hype and expectations surrounding him. At just 19, Gill has shown remarkable composure and maturity on the field to garner everyone’s attention.

That Gill is a special talent was very much clear when he starred for India in their victorious ICC Under-19 World Cup 2018. In the testing conditions of New Zealand, the youngster looked class apart. He scored 372 runs at an average of over 100 including a sensational century against Pakistan in the semifinal to become an overnight star in this cricket-obsessed nation. Gill finished the tournament as the second highest run-scorer and bagged the Man of the Tournament award.

The performance helped Gill earn a lucrative IPL deal and so far he has totally justified the faith shown in him by the franchise. In this year’s edition, the Kolkata Knight Riders star scored 296 runs in 14 matches, with 76 as his highest score. He was also named the emerging player of the tournament although he could not help the Knight Riders make it to the playoffs.

Gill pampers himself

Enjoying some much-needed break from the game now, Gill has gifted himself a swanky four wheeler, Range Rover. The Punjab youngster took to Twitter to inform the fans of his latest ride. Posting a picture of himself standing beside the car, Gill wrote, “Thalle mere Range akh baaz naalo tezz!  Caption credits – @jassiegill”

Gill, who made his ODI debut earlier this year during the New Zealand tour, is currently gearing up for the tour of West Indies. He has been named in both the India A squads – four-day games and the 50-over games. The tour, which includes five one-day matches (from July 11 to 21) and three four-day matches (from July 24 to August 9) will be held before the senior India team’s tour of the West Indies, which is set to begin in early August.
