Jharkhand: Cabinet nod to three 100-bed critical care block hospitals

Ranchi: The state cabinet on Thursday approved the construction of three 100-bed critical care block hospitals in Lohardaga, Khunti and Seraikela to boost health infrastructure. Over Rs 50 crore will be spent on building each of the hospitals under the Union government’s PM-ABHIM (Pradhan Mantri-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission), cabinet secretary Vandana Dadel said.


The ministerial council under chief minister Hemant Soren also gave its nod to the state urban development department’s proposal to build 256 homes for leprosy patients and their families at Murma under Nagri block in Ranchi district at a cost of Rs 33.11 crore, she said.

Regarding vehicular movement in the state capital and its peripheries, Vandana said the government approved the proposed construction of an inter-state bus terminus in Steel City at a cost of Rs 70.40 crore, the proposed four-laning project of the 17.7 km stretch of Ranchi-Purulia Road between Namkom railway overbridge and Angara at a cost of Rs 181.73 crore, and the four-laning project of the 4km Bariatu-Bargai-Boreya road in Ranchi at Rs 111.35 crore.

“In another decision, the state cabinet gave its nod to the Jharkhand Industrial Park and Logistics Policy of 2022, which aims at fetching investments in the warehousing sector. The state department of civil aviation was also allowed to constitute a Jharkhand flying association to assist the commissioning and monitoring of the upcoming and existing commercial pilot licencing, gliding, and aeromodelling institutions. State-run discom Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited was given a loan of Rs 2,632.8 crore through open market borrowing to clear its outstanding dues to power producing companies,” the cabinet secretary said.

Vandana stressed that 22 district judges heading the 22 fast track courts to hear cases under POCSO Act and rape were given a year’s extension.
