RLDA invites RFP for upgradation of Gurgaon railway station

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has invited RFP (Request for Proposal) for the upgradation of the Gurgaon Railway Station with an investment of Rs 215 crore.

This station upgradation is a lighthouse project and is being developed on modular concept in which pre-engineered and pre-fab construction will be used, which will reduce the time taken to complete the project thus avoiding the inconvenience to the passengers during construction.

Once the technique is established, it will be replicated on all the station development works to be carried out on the Indian Railway Network.

“Gurgaon is the most favoured destination for residential, retail and commercial development in Delhi-NCR region. The Gurgaon Railway Station is being upgraded to support the city's growth by providing a state-of-the-art railway station as well as components of commercial and retail development at the station,” said Ved Parkash Dudeja, Vice Chairman, RLDA.

The design will incorporate the Green Building concept and adhere to the life-cycle cost minimization approach, which will be the hallmarks of the newly-redeveloped station. The upgraded station will also have state of the art lobbies, food court, paid lounge, etc. along with office and retail spaces. Additional lifts and escalators shall be provided to enhance capacity to carry more passengers at a given time.

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is a statutory authority within the Ministry of Railways responsible for railway land development. As part of its development strategy RLDA has four key mandates: leasing of commercial sites, leasing of multi-functional complexes, colony redevelopment and station redevelopment.
