All FMS students of 2017-19 batch get job offers; average salary stands at Rs 23.2 lakh

NEW DELHI: All students of 2017-19 batch at Faculty of Management Studies, (FMS) Delhi have received job offers. The average salary at the institute this year is Rs 23.2 lakh per annum, an increase of Rs 2.1 lakh from last year, the institute shared in a statement.

The average compensation for the top 100 of the batch increased to Rs 27 lakh per annum from Rs 26 lakh per annum last year.

The placement season saw the highest ever increase of 18% in the average salary for women which increased to Rs 25.1 lakh per annum from Rs 21.3 lakh per annum last year.

A quarter of the students accepted offers in sales and marketing. Some of the prominent recruiters this year include Nestle, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), ITC, Reckitt Benckiser, BMW, Deloitte, McKinsey, Bain & Co. and Google. The placement cell at this institute mentioned that some of the marquee consulting firms made a beeline for placement, this year.

There was a record 140% increase in the e-commerce/IT/Operation roles compared to last year with 54 accepted offers from recruiters like Amazon, UBER, Paytm and Microsoft.

From the batch of 216 students, 198 appeared for the placements and received 210 offers. The remaining 18 students signed out of the placement process to pursue entrepreneurial ventures of their own, according to the institute.
