Future Digital Jobs: Karnataka's tech education dept & digital economy mission sign MoU

The collegiate & technical education department signed up with Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) on Thursday as part of its ambitious future digital jobs at government polytechnic and engineering colleges initiative.

The collaboration would help us to organize future digital jobs drives exclusively for students of government institutions and to provide career counseling and guidance to students in government institutions.

This would lead to meaningful internships, projects, and placements, IT/BT, Higher Education & Skill Development Minister CN Ashwath Narayan said, speaking on the occasion.

The partnership, he said, would help in workforce research for industries in regions ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ and facilitate industry talks, mentoring seminars, and workshops for students, faculty, etc. It also plays a role in establishing incubation centers, centers of excellence in government institutions, the minister said.

This MoU will enable development of relevant curriculum, enhancing infrastructure for teaching among other things, guiding young entrepreneurs, especially in rural Karnataka through mentorship and talent development, Ashwath Narayan said.

The MoU is expected to chiefly benefit students studying in 92 polytechnic and 14 engineering government institutions.

Digital Economy Mission chairman BV Naidu, Collegiate & Technical Education commissioner P Pradeep, Talancia Global CEO S Subramaniam and entrepreneurs VAdiraj and Manjunath were present at the event.
