Rashmika Mandanna's Pushpa co-star Dhananjay slams boycott calls for actress in Kannada movies

As the call for boycotting Rashmika Mandanna in Kannada films grows stronger on the internet her Pushpa co-star, Dhananjay, has come to defence.

When asked bout the boycott calls during a press conference, Dhananjay discarded them and said Rashmika belongs to the "Kannada family."

Her apparent feud with Rishab Shetty, who recently refused to work with her 'type' of actors, has amplified the trolling.

The trolling started a few weeks ago after Rashmika admitted that she hadn't seen Shetty's mega-blockbuster-- 'Kantara'.

The actress said, responding to media questions about her recent trolling, "I just have love for them. I don't know what else I'm supposed to say about it. It's left to them."

Several netizens accused the Pushpa star that she had forgotten her Kannada roots after working in the Tamil and Telugu film industries.

The actress defended herself, stating that when she was asked whether she'd seen Kantara within the first 2-3 days of its release at that time she hadn't gotten the chance to watch it.

Rashmika added that she saw Kantara later and complimented the team via a message. Reacting to the rumours of Kannada filmmakers banning her, she said she wasn't banned in Karnataka yet.
