An ageless beauty queen! 60 yr-old Argentinian lawyer makes history, gets crowned as Miss Buenos Aires 2024

True beauty is ageless! Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez, a 60-year-old lawyer from Buenos Aires charted history by becoming the first senior citizen to bag the title of Miss Buenos Aires 2024. This one-of-a-kind beauty competition shattered stereotypes by including contestants that ranged from age 18 to 73!

"I am thrilled to be representing this new paradigm in beauty pageants because we are inaugurating a new stage in which women are not only physical beauty but another set of values," she said after being crowned. The evergreen beauty queen looked ravishing in a shimmering white and blue ensemble.

She said that the judges were bowled over by her confidence. “I think the judges saw my confidence and my passion to represent the women of my generation,” she said.

Rodriguez plans to contest for Miss Universe Argentina.

In 2023, in a revolutionary move, Miss Universe organisation removed age limits for contestants. Earlier, women who were older than 28, were not eligible.

Rodriguez is a journalist and lawyer from La Plata. In an interview with Argentinian publication EI Trece, she revealed that she worked as a journalist, then switched to the legal profession. She studied law and went on to work as legal advisor for a hospital.

Rodriguez revealed she follows a disciplined lifestyle to look youthful. “What I try to do is intermittent fasting, I think that helps a lot. Then I try to eat organic foods, a lot of fruit, a lot of vegetables, and use good creams,” she told New York Post. She also works out three times a week. Her regimen mostly consists of walking and jogging. She also admitted that genetics also has a role to play in her youthful appearance.

She is also an avid cat lover. She owns several cats including a Norwegian Forest breed.
