Pep Guardiola has instructed Manchester City's Jack Grealish on how to perform well in World Cup 2022

Jack Grealish, who played in his first big international competition at the Euros last summer, has now crossed another item off his bucket list by being included in England's matchday squad for the World Cup.

The Manchester City forward was always anticipated to be named to Gareth Southgate's team for the competition in Qatar.

Still, his lack of assists and goals for Pep Guardiola's side this season raised some eyebrows.

However, with two assists in five outings for the Three Lions at the European Championship in 2021, he has already proven his value in a Three Lions shirt.

Grealish has faced criticism for his City record and performances since his £100 million signing in 2021. Guardiola has always supported the 27-year-old, even arguing that he is not in the squad to score or assist.

While the Blues player is unlikely to start the World Cup in Qatar, he must heed the counsel his club boss gave him early in the season.

What is Guardiola's stance on Grealish?
Guardiola stated before the Premier League season that Grealish had pleased him but that the Englishman would have to 'battle' for his place. The Spaniard also stated that players should not be told what they needed to accomplish before the World Cup.
