Tata Motors CSR action plan to combat COVID-19

New Delhi: The home-grown automaker Tata Motors has adopted a new CSR action plan focused on E3 directives to tackle COVID-19, the company said in a release on Wednesday.

The three directives include Essential supplies provision, Equipping self-help groups and Educating masses for containment and prevention, the company underlined.

Taking a cue from its parent company which has donated Rs 1000 crore for COVID-19, the automaker said it is organizing food supply of essentials to the communities that are on ground-zero and to the lower social strata of the society most impacted by the lockdown.

Tata Motors has also partnered with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. to distribute food packets and personal protective kits to truck drivers visiting companies Saarthi Aaram Kendra (SAK) located in Narsapura (near Bangalore) and Bawal (near Gurgaon) locations, said the automaker.

The company claims to be supporting and assisting Self-Help Groups to manufacture home-made certified masks and sanitizers to be distributed to hospitals, vendors, health-workers, police stations, army personnel, in communities around the company’s plants.

The company also conducted health check-ups & provided basic medication to over 500 stranded truck drivers and co-drivers in Belur, Dharwad.

The company said it is also creating awareness about the preventive measures to halt the spread of the virus by putting up banners and other related information material. The automaker is also leveraging its social media platforms to spread awareness about simple and easy precautionary measures one can adopt to stay unaffected and healthy, it added.
