Alia Bhatt to host Hope Gala in London, jets off from the Mumbai airport


Alia Bhatt is gearing up to host her debut charity gala, the Hope Gala , in London . Ahead of her hosting duties, the versatile actor, producer, and entrepreneur was sighted at Mumbai airport as she embarked on her journey to London.

According to a source close to her team, as reported by ANI, Alia will host the charity event on March 28 in collaboration with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London.
The gala is expected to be graced by prominent industrialists and philanthropists from both India and London.

The event is in support of Alia's chosen charity, Salaam Bombay, which is dedicated to empowering Mumbai's most vulnerable "at-risk" children. Salaam Bombay achieves this through in-school programs focusing on leadership and advocacy, as well as after-school academies aimed at skill-building. These initiatives are designed to enhance the confidence and self-esteem of the children while encouraging them to remain committed to their education.

Alia has recently wrapped up shooting for 'Jigra,' in which she stars alongside Vedang Raina. Sharing candid photos from the movie sets on her Instagram a few days ago, she announced the completion of filming. 'Jigra' is scheduled for theatrical release in September 2024.

Directed by Vasan Bala, 'Jigra' is co-produced by Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt. Vasan Bala, known for his works in films such as 'Monica O My Darling,' 'Peddlers,' and 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota,' helms the project. 'Jigra' marks the first on-screen collaboration between Alia Bhatt and Vasan Bala.

Alia Bhatt is reportedly set to appear in director Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film 'Jee Le Zaraa,' alongside Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. The movie is expected to continue the tradition of friendship-based narratives seen in films like 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.' However, production on the film has not yet started.
