Anjali Menon extends heartfelt birthday wishes to Anwar Rasheed

Filmmaker Anjali Menon has penned a heartfelt birthday note for her ‘ Ustaad Hotel ’ colleague Anwar Rasheed . Filmmaker-producer Anwar Rasheed, best known for his films ‘ Rajamanikyam’, ‘Ustaad Hotel', and ‘Trance’ among others turned 48 on Tuesday, March 19. Anjali Menon who has collaborated with the filmmaker several times has shared a rare picture from their film ‘Kerala Cafe’ and penned the sweetest note.

The note reflected her admiration towards Anwar Rasheed. In a note shared on Instagram, Anjali Menon said, “He was in no hurry to impress anyone. As I watched him direct this final shot for his short film Bridge (Kerala Cafe) I was struck by the sensitivity with which he dealt with his actor and his narrative.”

Her note further reads, “So gentle and so powerful... that was my first impression of what a wonderful filmmaker he is and it still holds strong Happy birthday Anwar! @anwar_abdul_rasheed Waiting for more magic that I know will come from you!.”

Meanwhile, Anwar Rasheed’s last outing as a director was ‘Trance' released in 2020. He has also backed Anjali Menon's most celebrated film ‘Bangalore Days’ starring Nazriya Nazim, Nivin Pauly, and Dulquer Salmaan. Anwar Rasheed is also co-producing the upcoming film ‘Aavesham’ starring Fahadh Faasil.
