'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' vs 'Maidaan': Akshay Kumar starrer crosses Rs 100 crore worldwide; Ajay Devgn's sports drama earns Rs 54 crore

As Akshay Kumar 's action-packed ' Bade Miyan Chote Miyan ' ( BMCM ) and Ajay Devgn 's sports drama ' Maidaan ' entered their third week at the box office, both films have experienced a notable decline in earnings. According to reports, the revenue of both films has dwindled, with 'Maidaan' reportedly holding a slight edge over 'BMCM.'

According to data from Sacnilk.com, 'Maidaan' grossed approximately Rs 75 lakh on its third Friday, while 'BMCM' trailed with earnings hovering around Rs 40 lakh.

Although Ajay Devgn's starrer took the lead in its second week, amassing an estimated Rs 10.25 crore, Akshay Kumar's film, despite earning Rs 8.6 crore, managed to retain its dominance due to its impressive opening week collection of Rs 49.9 crore. Presently, 'BMCM' boasts a total nett collection of Rs 58.9 crore, while 'Maidaan' has amassed an estimated total of Rs 39.35 crore.

On the global stage, Kumar's action-packed feature has garnered an estimated Rs 101.5 crore, surpassing the 50-crore milestone, while Devgn's offering has crossed the 50-crore mark, earning an estimated Rs 54 crore.

Despite the initial buzz surrounding its release and the star power of its leading actors, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' appears to be grappling with challenges in sustaining audience interest beyond the opening weekend.

In contrast, 'Maidaan,' which has garnered favourable reviews, continues to stand its ground at the box office. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, the film presents a poignant depiction of Syed Abdul Rahim's significant contributions to Indian football. Alongside Ajay Devgn, the film features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles, contributing to its enduring appeal among audiences.
