Dileep's crime thriller 'Thankamani' set for OTT release

Following a lukewarm response at the box office, the Dileep-starrer ' Thankamani ' is gearing up for its digital debut on OTT.

For viewers who missed its theatrical run, the update on the movie's OTT release has been eagerly awaited. While an exact date has yet to be announced, the action-packed drama is expected to hit Saina Play OTT platform in the first or second week of April.

Directed by Ratheesh Raghunandan , 'Thankamani' unfolds as a gripping revenge thriller set against the backdrop of real-life events that transpired in the village of Thankamani, Idukki, in October 1986. Dileep leads the cast, supported by female leads Pranitha Subhash and Neeta Pillai , alongside an ensemble of talented actors including Ajmal Ameer, Siddique, Sudev Nair, and Manoj K Jayan.

The film delves into the aftermath of a bus service dispute that escalates into gunfire and a police baton charge, leaving the village in turmoil.

Even with a promising director and an intriguing plot based on a real incident, 'Thankamani' failed to impress the audiences due to its underwhelming screenplay and direction. Dileep's performance was said to be the only positive factor of this crime thriller.

Meanwhile, Dileep has the most awaited drama film 'Pavi Caretaker' releasing on April 26.
