Eminem reveals new album 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),' - Deets inside

Eminem hints at his 12th album , 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace),' with a smart commercial during the NFL draft. This album brings back his Slim Shady alter ego. Shortly after appearing at the NFL draft, the Detroit rapper made the announcement with a teaser video that includes some vintage videos of Eminem.

It is set to come out this summer, marking his return to music after his last album in 2020. Further, as aforementioned, the upcoming album promises to bring back the famous Slim Shady character, Eminem's well-known alter ego introduced in the 1999 album 'The Slim Shady LP.' In recent years, Slim Shady's presence in Eminem's music has decreased. However, a recent advertisement, resembling a true-crime show promo and featuring suspenseful 'Forensic Files' music, hints at his return, leaving his fans excited.

Meanwhile, the advertisement carrying the teaser narrates, “Through his complex and oft-criticized tongue-twisting rhymes, the antihero known as (Slim Shady) has had no shortage of enemies. The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.”

In the video, it's stated that Eminem is hardly recognizable, and there's a belief that Slim would return eventually.

Dr. Dre, Eminem's longtime music collaborator, was the first person to hint at the forthcoming album. During a talk with Jimmy Kimmel, Dre disclosed, “I’ve got songs on it, and it’s fire.”

Eminem is familiar with NFL draft coverage, as he participated in an elaborate marketing plan for his 2017 album 'Revival.' This plan began with a puzzling advertisement for a fake medicine in the Free Press. Likewise, the ad for 'The Death of Slim Shady' was smoothly included in the NFL Network's draft coverage.
